T’s wellbeing improved significantly. She now feels more positive, has opened up to her family and is enjoying her new job
When T first came to counselling, she struggled with low confidence, anxiety and self-belief. After losing her mum and taking on the responsibility of caring daily for her dad, who has dementia, T was under immense pressure and often neglected her own wellbeing. Although initially sceptical about counselling, T engaged fully in her sessions through the Solid Foundations project. She explored past experiences that had contributed to her anxiety and low self-esteem, while also receiving practical support such as help with updating her CV.
When encouraged to apply for a paid position at the charity shop where she volunteered, T initially doubted herself. With support from her counsellor/coach, she applied and was successfully offered the role. Ongoing in-work support helped her manage anxiety, adjust to new routines and grow in confidence. T’s wellbeing improved significantly. She now feels more positive, has opened up to her family and is enjoying her new job. With less pressure and more balance, T says she finally feels optimistic about the future.
